Who we need

Our Faculty of Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Full Time Professor to teach within our Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program for the practicum courses and skills-based courses, which include online synchronous components. There will be an orientation and training provided prior to being assigned a teaching schedule.

With an earned doctoral degree in Counselling, Psychology, or related field from a recognized university, registration/certification with an appropriate professional regulatory body or association in your province/jurisdiction (in adherence to relevant provincial regulatory laws), and at least five years in the field of Counselling Psychology or a related profession, you will deliver university courses at the graduate level. You will draw on the most recent research and practices in Canadian counselling and psychology, and demonstrate sensitivity and education in equality, diversity, inclusion and decolonization and its impact on the field and teaching.

This is a remote opportunity with an online delivery platform (Moodle, Brightspace) commencing winter 2025.

What you will do
  • Teach and facilitate counselling psychology theory and skills courses
  • Foster student success through ongoing support and coaching
  • Manage discussion forums and learning activities through the Brightspace platform
  • Timely mark and provide feedback for all student assessments
  • Respond to student inquiries and concerns
  • Coordinate with Practicum Supervisors to complete Formative and Summative evaluations
  • Facilitate online synchronous activities related to the curriculum
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the course
  • Support strategic program growth and ensure ongoing self-development in the field
You have
  • A PhD in a counselling related field (includes a graduate degree in psychology at the Masters or Doctoral level)
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or related field
  • Canadian faculty
  • Active clinical practice registration/certification/license with an appropriate professional regulatory body or association in your province/jurisdiction (in adherence to relevant provincial regulatory laws)
  • Teaching experience at graduate level is a strong asset
  • Experience using Moodle online delivery platform is a strong asset
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal
