Job summary

Red Deer Polytechnic in Alberta seeks Full-Time Sessional instructors for the Early Learning and Child Care program. Faculty focus on courageous teaching, responsive relationships, and empowering changemakers on campus.

Responsibilities include delivering up to five ELCC certificate courses in person, supporting student success with professional development opportunities; on-campus presence is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education or related discipline.
• A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience working in varied early childhood environments for children (birth to age 8).
• Experience teaching adult learners, in-person and online, especially in post-secondary.
• Awareness/knowledge of Alberta’s Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning Framework.
• Willingness to teach on-campus multiple days per week each term.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with educational technologies for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to five ELCC certificate-level courses primarily in person on the RDP campus in the winter term.
• Focus on creating opportunities for courageous teaching, responsive relationships, and empowering changemakers.
• Evidence of capacity to teach three or more of the listed ELCC courses.
• Course outlines are available on the RDP website.
