Job Skills / Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist the Team lead with initial and ongoing job duties
  • Assist the TL with site security staff and act as a resource for any issues in accordance with Paladin and client policies and procedures.
  • Respond to site emergencies (alarms, medical emergencies, fires and other urgent matters)
  • Prevent theft, violence or infraction of rules and regulations
  • Effectively communicate all suspicious activities, concerns, issues and events to our dispatch team on behalf of our client
  • Perform regular patrols within the Shopping Centre
  • Report any issues directly to the Site Supervisor
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and tenants
  • Writing comprehensive and detailed reports

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Full availability (Full-time position)
  • Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one
  • Must be bondable
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate, and solve complex problems.
  • Effective communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Basic computer proficiency, report-writing, and note-taking skills
  • It is considered an asset to have First Aid/AED/CPR, NVCI, and MOAB training, however, this training will be provided to the successful candidate
