Grand Erie District School Board in Ontario seeks qualified candidates for teaching positions in the Intermediate/Senior divisions. Applicants must hold Ontario College of Teachers’ Certificate of Qualification and be eligible to teach in those divisions.
Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate Mohawk language proficiency, both written and spoken, and knowledge of Haudenosaunee history and culture; accommodation supports may be available.
Periods 1, 2 & 3
QUALIFICATIONS: Ontario College of Teachers’ Certificate of Qualification and qualified to teach in the Intermediate/Senior Divisions in accordance with Ministry of Education regulations.
Preference will be given to applicants who are currently members in good standing with the Ontario College of teachers and possess a current Certificate of Qualification (Intermediate/Senior divisions). Candidates must have proficiency, both written and verbal, in Mohawk language. In addition, preference will be given to candidates who have attained intermediate level, both written and verbal, in Mohawk language according to the American Council on the teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proficiency guidelines. It is also necessary to have working knowledge of the Haudenosaunee history and culture.
Your application must include a cover letter, resume, copy of your current Certificate of Qualification, practice teaching reports or the most recent performance review(s), and the names of three (3) professional references (at lease one of whom must be a current principal/supervisor, if applicable).
