Aversan is seeking a Full Stack Senior Software Developer to join our Montreal team. You will lead design and development of complex software with secure, scalable APIs, leveraging Java/J2EE, Spring, and ORM technologies.

You will mentor developers, champion AI-assisted tooling, and ensure governance and security standards. On-site in Montreal, you will collaborate across stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Java/J2EE from Java 8 through Jakarta EE/Java 21.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework (Core, JDBC, MVC), EJB, JDBC, JMS, Hibernate, JPA, and Java ORM technologies.
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP web services, Jersey-based REST services, and Kafka event-driven integrations.
• Extensive experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, DataTables, and Spring MVC/Struts.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Tomcat; scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
• Proficiency with Eclipse/IntelliJ, ANT, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence.
• Bilingual in English and French.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering; certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications and systems using existing and emerging technologies, including the development of secure, scalable REST/SOAP APIs and integrations.
• Develop, debug, and maintain complex code and software modules, providing technical leadership and guidance to less experienced developers.
• Champion Client-approved AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation while adhering to security and governance standards.
• Review functional and technical requirements, identify potential issues, contribute to solution design, and collaborate with stakeholders to define application features and technical approaches.
• Establish and promote coding standards, development guidelines, and technical processes, ensuring consistent implementation across the team.
• Manage defect assignments and allocation to appropriate developers, monitor resolution, and support effective defect management.
• Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, and management, translating business and technical needs into application and system features.
• Develop and maintain test case documentation to support current and future quality assurance activities.
• Prepare, review, and take ownership of technical estimates for development work performed by self and less experienced developers.

Basic Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Java/J2EE, from Java 8 through Jakarta EE/Java 21, with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise application development.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework (Core, JDBC, MVC), EJB, JDBC, JMS, Hibernate, JPA, and Java ORM technologies.
• Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP web services, Jersey-based REST services, and Kafka event-driven integrations.
• Extensive experience with relational databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
• Experience with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and DataTables, as well as Spring MVC and Struts.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, for coding, testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Experience with multiple web and application servers, including Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat, and scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
• Proficiency with development tools and platforms, including Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, ANT, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline relevant to the position.
• Professional programming certification in a mainstream programming language is considered an asset.

Compensation: $115,000 – $135,000 CAD (annual salary)

This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
