Job summary

Alexander Chapman is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own product development end-to-end in an AI-native environment. You will architect and implement backend systems using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and GCP, while delivering polished frontend experiences with React and TypeScript.

You’ll mentor others and drive velocity with AI-assisted development tools. The role offers remote/hybrid work in an early-stage startup, with relocation to Toronto in the future for onsite operations.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of full-stack experience with ownership of features or major components.
• Strong frontend and backend skills: Python, React, TypeScript, APIs, databases, and cloud infra.
• Deep experience with AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code and prompt engineering.

I'm working with a YC-backed startup building the operating system for creator commerce. Their platform helps brands and creators manage and scale social commerce programs across channels like TikTok Shop, with plans to become the infrastructure layer powering creator marketing across all major commerce platforms. They're already working with major consumer brands and are scaling rapidly.

This Senior Full Stack Engineer will own product development end-to-end while helping define engineering standards in an AI-native development environment.

The role will:

Own features from ideation, design, and implementation through to launch

Build and scale backend systems, APIs, and data infrastructure using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and GCP

Develop polished, high-performance user experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling

Lead architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices across the stack

Work directly with customers to translate ambiguous requirements into product solutions

Mentor engineers on AI-native development workflows and agentic coding practices

Drive engineering velocity through effective use of AI-assisted development tools

Ship quickly in a highly iterative, product-focused environment

What they're looking for:

2–6 years of full-stack engineering experience with strong ownership of products or major features. Strong experience across frontend and backend development, including Python, React, TypeScript, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure. Candidates should have exceptional product instincts and be comfortable operating in ambiguity. Deep experience with AI-assisted development tools—particularly Claude Code, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and AI-driven software development is a core requirement.
