About the Role

Market Operations Technology addresses complex challenges in the financial industry to support our global business and its customers. We prioritize shipping code early and often using Agile and DevOps principles to deliver value, with continuous improvement and learning at our core.

The Post Trade Technology team manages back-office processing systems for Clearance, Settlement, and Custody functions across Fixed Income and Equities products for US markets. The team develops and maintains in-house systems and manages vendor-hosted SaaS solutions, spanning multiple locations including New York, Toronto, Hyderabad, and Pune.

The ideal candidate should be a Java expert with experience in large-scale complex systems, preferably within the financial industry. Exposure to GCP is valuable for expanding our cloud solutions.

This role involves production support (via a rota) and proactive automation improvements. There is potential for growth into a regional technical lead.

As our Full Stack Engineer, you will:

• Function as a senior member of MSSOT US Post Trade Technology team, collaborating with regional teams in the USA and India.
• Act as a technology expert and primary contact for application development activities.
• Manage key technology stacks in equities and fixed income post-trade systems, ensuring successful development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Work with local and onsite leads to prioritize and deliver enhancements while maintaining high performance.
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and cost optimization through process and platform re-engineering, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Equity Post Trade Life cycle processes.
• Implement Agile and DevOps practices, ensuring automation tools are used throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Define and execute procedures based on Service Level Agreements for a 24/5 production cycle for all regional Post Trade systems.

What Your Day will Look Like

• Design, develop, and implement innovative technology solutions for the Market Operations team and Repo trading desk.
• Ensure technology systems are reliable, capable of handling a wide user base, and cost-effective.
• Provide support for Fixed Income and Equities Post Trade systems as needed.
• Handle inquiries from business users and stakeholders, including out-of-hours releases, changes, and infrastructure maintenance.
• Maintain infrastructure through upgrades, patches, security vulnerability management, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Develop and maintain an accessible repository of application documentation.
• Communicate regularly with clients, provide status updates, document activities, and oversee support teams in issue resolution.
