About the Role

Market Operations Technology addresses complex challenges in the financial industry to support our global business and customers. We emphasize delivering value through frequent code releases using Agile and DevOps principles, with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.

The Post Trade Technology team manages back-office systems for Clearance, Settlement, and Custody functions across Fixed Income and Equities for US markets, developing and maintaining in-house systems and managing vendor SaaS solutions.

The team operates across multiple locations including New York, Toronto, Hyderabad, and Pune. We are looking for a Java expert with experience in large, complex systems, preferably in finance, and exposure to GCP to expand our cloud solutions.

The candidate will be involved in production support, automation improvements, and has potential to grow into a regional technical lead.

Responsibilities as a Full Stack Engineer

• Serve as a senior member of the MSSOT US Post Trade Technology team, collaborating with regional teams in the USA and India.
• Act as the technology expert and primary contact for application development activities.
• Manage key technology stacks in equities and fixed income post-trade systems, ensuring successful development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Work with local and onsite leads to prioritize and deliver enhancements while maintaining high performance.
• Identify automation and efficiency opportunities, re-engineering processes and platforms based on in-depth knowledge of the Equity Post Trade Life Cycle.
• Implement Agile and DevOps practices, utilizing automation tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Define and execute SLA-based procedures for a 24/5 production cycle for all post-trade systems regionally.

Daily Activities

• Design, develop, and implement innovative technology solutions for Market Operations and Repo trading desks.
• Ensure systems reliability to support a broad user base and focus on cost-efficiency.
• Provide support for Fixed Income and Equities Post Trade systems as needed.
• Handle inquiries from business users and stakeholders, including out-of-hours releases and infrastructure maintenance.
• Maintain infrastructure through upgrades, patches, security management, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Create and maintain an accessible repository of application documentation.
• Communicate regularly with clients, provide status updates, document activities, and oversee local and offshore support teams in resolving issues.
