Scotiabank is modernizing its technology landscape, focusing on cloud computing and core banking services. Full stack engineers in the Digital Assistance group are central to this journey, working on impactful products and features for internal and external customers. You will be responsible for building solutions and making significant technology decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Delivery, Engineering, Product Owners, and platform teams to design and develop banking platforms, APIs, and solutions supporting retail and commercial customers.
- Design and develop complex distributed cloud-based microservices.
- Work with geographically dispersed teams on system development and integration.
- Build and enhance infrastructure for robustness, scalability, and efficiency.
- Design software that scales elastically across data centers and cloud vendors, ensuring resilience.
- Understand system and data relationships, and implement comprehensive testing (unit, integration, acceptance, performance).
- Communicate clearly and concisely.
- Research emerging technologies for potential banking platform redesigns.
- Align solutions with strategic roadmaps and identify new capabilities and opportunities.
- Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive work environment.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years in IT, with experience in Cloud, MERN stack, REST API, microservices, and web application delivery.
- Experience with cloud architectures (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of DDD, EDA, high availability architectures.
- Experience with enterprise frameworks, TDD, CI / CD, code analysis, and monitoring tools.
- Proficiency with SQL / NoSQL databases (SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with REST / SOAP, Kafka, OpenAPI.
- Source control (GIT), security principles (OAuth, infrastructure security).
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS / Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Nice-to-have : Cloud certifications, scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell).
