We're seeking someone to join our team as a Java Full stack Developer with experience on multi-tiered Java EE-style applications and Front-End technologies. The candidate will be required to work in a multifaceted agile team on the development and maintenance of a suite of applications that build up our statistical model development and execution platform.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Software Engineering III position at Associate level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

  1. Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.
  2. Design and develop complex software systems and applications.
  3. Deliver solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  4. Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
  5. Implement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.
  6. Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.
  7. Lead efforts to refactor and optimize existing codebase for efficiency and maintainability.
  8. Maintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.
  9. Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure software quality and reliability.
  10. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  1. At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
  2. Core Java, Java EE, Spring/SpringBoot, Web Services (XML, JSON, REST, SOAP), Relational databases (preferably DB2).
  3. Experience with UI development frameworks (ExtJS preferable, Angular, React, etc).
  4. Understanding of non-functional requirements (security, scalability, reliability).
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  6. Working experience of Agile development methodologies and DevOps integration.
  7. Competency with source control systems (preferably git), CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, ensuring streamlined development processes.
  8. Exposure to JIRA or other ALM tools to create a productive, high quality development.
  9. Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  10. Basic understanding of Linux commands.

All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec. We offer a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and attendance in the office. Knowledge of French and English is required.
