Job summary

Qualico is seeking an Accountant to join its Calgary-based team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will manage full cycle accounting for the business unit, including posting journal entries, preparing monthly statements, reconciling ledgers, and supporting year-end and budgeting processes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree with CPA in progress, 3+ years of full cycle accounting, and strong Excel/NewStar skills. Office-based role with standard hours and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and professional accounting designation or CPA is in progress.
• Minimum 3 years of full cycle accounting experience.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs and accounting software (NewStar).

Responsibilities

• Post journal entries for payables, receivables and other general transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain internal control procedures.
• Complete reports and analyses for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in year-end reviews, forecasting and budget preparations.
• Provide support to other accounting related activities as required.
