EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - FTE Grade 7 Teacher

The Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nations, a Cree community in Northeastern Alberta, operates three schools accredited in the Province of Alberta. We are seeking a Grade 7 Teacher for Tustukeeskaws Jr / Sr High School, starting Monday, August 26, 2024.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, administration, and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Alberta Education Act and the Alberta Program of Studies
  • Understanding of local culture and traditions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to advocate for students and participate in outdoor activities
  • Demonstrate healthy living by example
  • Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Valid Alberta Interim Professional Teaching Certificate or Alberta Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Knowledge of leveled literacy programs and shared reading
  • Ability to build relationships at individual, family, and community levels
  • Proficient with Google Workspace
  • Excellent computer skills are considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
