Neighbourly Pharmacy is hiring a full-time Clinical Pharmacist to join our teams in Central Alberta. This is a full-time, non-dispensing role involving work at multiple locations throughout Central Alberta, including: Sundre, Blackfalds, Innisfail, Olds, and Didsbury, AB. Mileage is reimbursed.

Patient-Focused Care Responsibilities

We are seeking an ambitious Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. You will be responsible for various functions through collaborative drug therapy management and for providing outstanding patient care for patients throughout the Neighbourly family of stores, in a non-dispensing capacity.

  1. Review patient records to determine the appropriateness of medication therapy.
  2. Identify untreated health problems and refer patients to appropriate physicians.
  3. Consult on dosages, medication substances, etc.
  4. Advise on the correct administration of drugs.
  5. Assess the results of pharmaceutical treatments.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation of medication plans and patient progress.
  8. Work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment, utilizing excellent time management and organizational skills.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Personal Suitability

  • Proficiency in both written and oral English communication, with constant phone communication.
  • Attributes: client focus, accuracy, dependability, reliability, initiative, interpersonal skills, organization, flexibility, and teamwork.

Work Setting

  • Non-dispensing environment.

Additional Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical therapy.
  • Hands-on experience with direct patient care.
  • Familiarity with drug administration, health, and safety procedures.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and drug prescription software.
  • Problem-solving mindset and patient-oriented personality.
  • APA and Injection Certification required.
  • Certification and licensure: Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada, Alberta College of Pharmacists, Malpractice Insurance, and familiarity with Alberta Pharmacy Professional Services Framework.
