Primary Purpose

Assist in managing department operations to achieve financial and sales goals, build strong team and customer relationships, and support Hannaford’s strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
  • Effective communication, customer service, and sales skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Leadership desire and ability.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum age requirements met.
Physical Requirements
  • Proficiency with computers and communication systems.
  • Stand and walk continuously.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Reach overhead and shoulder level as needed.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting.
  • Work in varying temperature conditions for up to 20 minutes.
Additional Physical and Functional Requirements
  • Operate controls and tools for product handling.
  • Handle cleaning, packaging, and food substances.
  • Meet departmental volume activity standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manage department operations in the absence of the manager.
  • Model excellent customer service and provide solutions.
  • Contribute to sales growth through merchandising.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing staff.
  • Manage performance via coaching and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain department standards for appearance, quality, safety, and food safety.
  • Develop effective work schedules.
  • Recognize and coach staff delivering great service.
  • Utilize company tools for reports, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Keep accurate records of production, sales, and inventory.
  • Communicate policies effectively.
  • Perform various department functions as needed.
  • Participate in special projects.
  • Meet physical requirements of the role, with accommodations if necessary.
  • Handle products according to department guidelines.
Salary Range

$18.95 - $27.25 per hour
