Job description

The Opportunity:

The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for administering Quality and Food Safety programs and protocols at the Bradford facility. The candidate ensures a safe, cost-effective, and service-oriented department, providing values-based leadership to direct reports and other employees.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  1. Supervise 4-5 QA technicians, ensuring tasks are conducted efficiently and meet business needs.
  2. Plan QA staffing requirements based on production demands, approve hours, and manage vacation schedules.
  3. Maintain and update QA programs, SOPs, and ensure compliance with MLF, CFIA, and BRC standards.
  4. Assist with HACCP and Food Safety program updates, acting as a liaison to meet regulatory requirements.
  5. Analyze sanitation data to identify root causes and provide feedback for improvements.
  6. Assist with third-party audits and prepare/manage audits with cross-functional teams.
  7. Follow up on deviations, customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  8. Develop SOPs and ensure proper documentation and storage.
  9. Conduct GMP, internal, and external audits, identifying improvement opportunities.
  10. Investigate food safety incidents and customer complaints.
  11. Foster a positive work environment through interpersonal and team-building skills.
  12. Promote continuous improvement and employee training.
  13. Lead initiatives to enhance product and process quality and safety.
  14. Conduct internal audits based on BRCGS and MLF standards.
  15. Support FSQA department across shifts and participate in Black Belt and Green Belt projects.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Post-secondary education in Food Science or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in food quality assurance.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
  • Experience developing QA programs, HACCP, and SOPs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
