Job summary

Les Emballages Syka Frais Inc., a company engaged in the processing, preparation and packaging of fresh fruit, is seeking a Machine Operator – Fresh Fruit Processing and Packaging to join its production team in Brossard.

The successful candidate will operate, monitor and adjust equipment while following production, quality-control, food-safety and workplace-safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse, production, packaging or food-processing environment.
• On-the-job training will be provided by the employer.
• English or French.

Responsibilities

• Operate fruit-processing and packaging machines and equipment.
• Set up, monitor and adjust equipment in accordance with established production procedures.
• Verify fill weights, seals, labels and production information.
• Inspect products and packaging to ensure that quality standards are met.
• Identify and report equipment faults and production irregularities.
• Assist with routine production changeovers and equipment adjustments.
• Perform basic cleaning of machines, equipment and work areas.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, hygiene and cold-chain procedures.
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements.
• Complete and verify required production records.
• Perform other related duties directly associated with food-processing and packaging operations.
