Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a Front-End Manager to lead and develop the department staff while driving customer loyalty and profitability. You will oversee budgets, labour costs, product presentation, and inventory control, ensuring compliance with safety and company policies.

The role requires at least 18 months of retail store experience, a High School Diploma, and strong communication skills. You will report to store leadership and help implement initiatives that enhance the customer shopping

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of retail store experience, front-end department experience preferred.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Full knowledge of total store and department operations.
• Experience reading and analyzing financial reports, and experience in developing and adhering to budgets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach department staff to foster customer loyalty and engagement.
• Manage department staff including hiring, orientation, training, performance management and development.
• Oversee store operations and communicate requirements to department employees.
• Balance cash office and manage the department budget to meet financial targets and margins.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain product knowledge and seasonal awareness.
• Coordinate maintenance of department equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
