Job summary

Strana is seeking an experienced Front End engineer for a 12-month contract in New Brunswick. The role involves leading FEL activities, managing sponsors and stakeholders, and delivering critical project documents to all levels of the organization.

You will develop business cases, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and support schedules and cost estimates, leveraging extensive refinery/process engineering experience in heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering with P.Eng.
• 10+ years in process or mechanical engineering for heavy industry (oil/gas, mining, power generation).
• Refinery process technology knowledge/design experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead or actively participate in FEL 1 and FEL 2 project activities.
• Manage stakeholders and sponsors, communicating with project sponsors and key internal/external stakeholders.
• Develop critical documents (Project-Frame, I Phase Plan, Project Design Intent, Decision Matrix) and present to all levels.
• Lead or participate in benefits analyses and business case development.
• Coordinate with 3rd party consultants, technology licensors and contractors, directing and approving their work.
• Support development of project schedules, execution plans and cost estimates.
