The Brand Experience Team within VP Communications & Community Engagement is currently seeking a Full-time Staff Limited Term Front-End Developer for approximately 12 months.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Experience, and working closely with the Senior Developer, Digital Experience, the Front-end Developer collaborates on the production of visual and motion designs that leverage UX best-practices and turns desired outcomes into operationalized digital elements. The work includes overall responsibility for creating user experience elements via visual and functional implementation. The role requires the effective management of competing interests and deadlines, and the ability to manage priorities within a fast-paced, SCRUM-based, multi-team development environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have a combination of creativity and technical expertise, with a strong eye for detail and design.
The Front-end Developer is a key member of the Digital Experience team who focuses on taking product enhancements and new feature requests from design to execution. This role will focus on the support of a central digital design system, including the build and documentation of custom elements and reusable UI components. This role is also tasked with ensuring that produced code successfully meets user needs on a variety of digital devices, as well as meeting university visual, brand, accessibility and technical standards. In short, this role writes code that determines how our digital elements look and operate with the intent of setting the campus standard.
