Optimy is a fast-growing tech startup looking to change the way that companies manage their frontline staff. It was originally incubated by Kognitive Marketing and spun off as a separate company. Designed as an AI-powered end-to-end workforce management system, Optimy is leveraging Kognitive Marketing’s existing resources to fund, develop and sell the software.

Kognitive Marketing was ranked the 6th fastest growing company in Canada and has a team of over 700 staff working with Canada’s largest brands. While succeeding as a direct sales company for over twelve years, Kognitive Marketing and its thousands of frontline staff experienced an ongoing issue: we could not find a suitable software to help run our business.

We decided to take on the exciting task of building one ourselves with the vision of creating the most intuitive and efficiency-focused workforce management system for frontline staff.

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000

Responsibilities:

• You will be a member of the development team, contributing to the development of user interfaces for both web and mobile software
• You will collaborate with other front-end developers and the development team, contributing to the front-end development of the product
• You will be responsible for taking high fidelity designs and technical requirements, and then coding, testing, and shipping code
• Work closely with the UI/UX Designer and other developers to ensure smooth development and delivery of features.
• Writing well-tested, maintainable front-end code for both web and mobile apps
• Addressing and resolving bugs in a timely manner, ensuring the stability and quality of the product
• You love the satisfaction that comes from building software that strikes the perfect balance between simplicity, flexibility, and functionality. You pride yourself on shipping high-quality software.
• You understand the unique use cases and challenges of building modern web applications. You are adept at investigating and understanding your team’s requirements, flagging potential issues, and proposing creative solutions.
• Managing requirements and scheduling: You can balance development commitments and you are comfortable managing your own priorities and schedule.

Requirements:

• You have strong proficiency with modern front-end web development technology including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• You have solid experience with JavaScript and experience with Angular/AngularJS
• Proficient experience setting up hosting for your code on environments like Amazon EBS/EC2
• A minimum of 2 year of experience with Progressive Web Apps
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience building web applications using modern frameworks
• A minimum of 1-2 years working on a B2B SaaS software product
• You have experience building complex web applications
• You have experience conceptualizing and mocking up UX flows
• You have experience in an Agile, face- paced environment
• You can transform design mock-ups into working software with close attention to detail
• You have an eye for UI/UX design
• You understand and are comfortable developing and testing components in a modern web framework, such as ANGULAR
• You are excited by the prospect of teaching yourself new technologies, as needed
• You can create modular, flexible, and maintainable CSS
• You have used or are interested in learning about modern CSS methodologies such as Atomic CSS
• You have used or are interested in learning about front-end testing tools such as Jest and Enzyme
• You have used or are interested in learning about modern JavaScript tooling such as Webpack, and Babel.js
• You understand MVC structured applications and how to use layouts, partials, and view helpers
