Job summary

METRO Bracebridge is looking for a Front End Clerk to be the face of our store, delivering friendly service to our diverse community. This part-time unionized role starts at 16.60 CAD per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience.

You will greet customers, help locate products, handle payments, and maintain a tidy checkout area while adhering to safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is an asset.
• High attention to detail and basic level of numeracy skills.
• Basics computer and register skills is an asset.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
• Address customer inquiries and assist with locating products.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Scan items quickly and accurately.
• Process various forms of payment (cash, credit/debt cards, gift cards).
• Process returned items.
• Provide receipts and any necessary change.
• Offer assistance with loyalty programs or coupons.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer.
• Perform cash drops and prepare cash deposits as required.
• Balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
• Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
• Follow store policies and procedures to ensure safety and security.
• Report any spills, hazards, or equipment issues to management.
• Work with other team members to ensure store operations run smoothly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.
• Assist team members with put aways/returns.
