Job summary

Walmart Fort McMurray is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, process purchases quickly and accurately, and provide a positive shopping experience that builds customer loyalty. You will support and process transactions and help maintain a safe, clean sales floor.

Based at 1053 K. Sawatzky Blvd, Fort McMurray, AB, this entry-level role requires good communication, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Processes all purchase transactions in a timely and efficient manner, including deactivation of merchandise with respect to the EAS Program.
• Promotes company sponsor programs, ie. Credit card service, product protection and charity initiatives.
• Assists customers with bagging and loading of merchandise.
• Ensures safe work practices are followed including proper lifting and keeping a clean work area.
• Maintains register security and integrity through diligent cash handling, adherence to relevant company policies and awareness of surroundings.
• Refers appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager or Front End Team Lead.
• Educating and supporting customers on the correct and efficient use of self-checkout options.
