Job summary

Thrifty-Foods in Nanaimo is seeking cashiers to deliver friendly and professional service at the front end. You will process customer orders accurately, maintain the cash drawer, and support the service desk with lottery, refunds and inquiries.

Ideal candidates possess basic numeracy and can work independently in a fast-paced retail environment, contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers in-store.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service processing transactions to meet customer needs
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer following company policies and procedures
• Operate Customer Service Desk following all procedures for lottery sales, refunds, bottle returns and inquiries
• Maintain Front End Department merchandise
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Adhere to, and implement all applicable company standards
• Support additional departments and functions with other duties as required
