Job summary

The Home Depot Canada in Cranbrook, Alberta is seeking a Front End Associate to guide customers through checkout and support assisted transactions. You will exemplify strong product knowledge, greet customers, and help meet their needs with a positive, efficient service approach.

You will promote optional services, maintain safety practices, and work in a busy store environment with a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years Retail or Cash experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist at the register, directing them to open registers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of products/services and suggest solutions to meet customer needs.
• Be courteous, efficient, and reduce wait times at checkout.
• Promote services such as Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental, Pro Services, etc.

Position Overview

Front-end associates proactively direct customers to open registers and support customers at the assisted check-outs throughout the store. The front end associate will excel at processing transactions accurately and timely by executing our GET checkout process.

Ensures Customer Satisfaction

• Using the GET Involved approach to customer service, front-end associate greets each customer, engages them during the transaction and thanks the customer for their business.
• Demonstrates knowledge of products and services and makes appropriate suggestions to meet the customers’ needs.
• Treats all customers and associates in a sincere, appreciative manner and minimizes the time in the checkout line, acknowledging waiting customers.
• Promote and recommend services offered such as Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental, Pro Services, etc.

Maintains Safety, Security and Shrink Mitigation

• Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Follows processes on the front-end designed to mitigate shrink and protect assets.
