Job summary

The Home Depot Canada is seeking a Front End Associate to guide customers to open registers and support the assisted checkout experience. You will excel at processing transactions accurately and timely by following our GET checkout process.

You will greet customers, demonstrate product knowledge, and promote services like Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental and Pro Services while upholding safety and loss prevention policies in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years retail or cash handling experience is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers using the GET Involved approach, engage them during the transaction, and thank them for their business.
• Demonstrate knowledge of products and services and suggest options to meet customer needs.
• Minimize checkout line wait times and assist at assisted checkouts.

Position Overview

Front-end associates proactively direct customers to open registers and support customers at the assisted check-outs throughout the store. The front end associate will excel at processing transactions accurately and timely by executing our GET checkout process.

• Using the GET Involved approach to customer service, front-end associate greets each customer, engages them during the transaction and thanks the customer for their business.
• Demonstrates knowledge of products and services and makes appropriate suggestions to meet the customers' needs.
• Treats all customers and associates in a sincere, appreciative manner and minimizes the time in the checkout line, acknowledging waiting customers.
• Promote and recommends services offered such as Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental, Pro Services, etc.

Maintains Safety, Security and Shrink Mitigation

• Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Follows processes on the front-end designed to mitigate shrink and protect assets.
