Job summary

The Home Depot Canada is seeking a Front End Associate to guide customers to open registers and support them at assisted check-outs. You will excel in accurate, timely transactions through our GET checkout process and help customers find the right solutions for their projects.

Strong interpersonal skills and cash handling are essential. Weekend/evening shifts may be required, with a flexible schedule in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail or cash handling experience is an asset.
• Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct customers to open registers and assist at assisted check-outs.
• Process transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Answer questions and suggest products or services to meet customer needs.
• Promote services such as Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental, Pro Services, etc.
• Maintain safety and security in the front-end area.

• Using the GET Involved approach to customer service, front-end associate greets each customer, engages them during the transaction and thanks the customer for their business.
• Demonstrates knowledge of products and services and makes appropriate suggestions to meet the customers’ needs.
• Treats all customers and associates in a sincere, appreciative manner and minimizes the time in the checkout line, acknowledging waiting customers.
• Promote and recommends services offered such as Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental, Pro Services, etc.

Maintains Safety, Security and Shrink Mitigation

• Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Follows processes on the front-end designed to mitigate shrink and protect assets.
