Job Description

The successful candidate will handle various administrative duties supporting The Great Divide Lodge's operations, including staff accommodation, guest check-in/out, visitor registration, file management, payment processing, ensuring compliance with housing agreements, and assisting in bar/restaurant service when needed. The Front Desk Agent aims to deliver exceptional customer service and a positive experience for guests and employees.

The Great Divide Lodge, located 15 minutes west of Lake Louise at the summit of Kicking Horse Pass in Yoho National Park, offers 50 hostel-style rooms overlooking the Canadian Rockies and Wapta Lake.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure positive guest interactions and resolve issues within scope of authority
  • Perform check-in/check-out efficiently and timely
  • Respond to inquiries via telephone, email, and in person
  • Maintain reservation and room assignment records
  • Coordinate with the Duty Manager for department success
  • Organize and maintain office records and files
  • Balance and account for cash at the start and end of shifts
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within GDL and Lake Louise Ski Resort
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Positive attitude with a friendly, polite, professional manner
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Ability to work night shifts and independently with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgment, reasoning, and discretion
  • Experience with RoomMaster booking system is an asset
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry and Electronic POS systems is an asset
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Serving It Right certification (to be obtained within 30 days of employment)
  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • First Aid certification is an asset
  • Strong English communication skills; second language is an asset

Note: Limited cell service and public transport are available at this remote location.

Wage: $19.57/hour

Work Schedule: Must be able to work rotating shifts

Dress Code: Business Casual – to be discussed during interview
