French Teacher

InnovOak School has an immediate need for Part time French teacher(s). This role does have some flexibility in scheduling for suitable candidates (Retired Teachers, Teachers on Leave, Current Supply Teachers etc) that may fit your current situation. This role could also grow in hours as enrolment increases.

InnovOak School was established in 2021 in Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario. InnovOak is a Ministry Inspected Private School for Grades JK-12 and we grant an OSSD and our own ISHGD.

Our ideal hires will:

  • Masterfully integrate innovative ideas and opportunities into traditional aspects of a solid and successful academic program.
  • Support student wellbeing, taking a genuine interest in each child's success.
  • Create a dynamic, warm and nurturing classroom environment that is organized, and provides a wide variety of learning opportunities for students.
  • Creatively implement overarching school goals into classroom teaching (such as LifeReady or InnovOak's Core Skill Development) as part of the school team
  • Committed to working with the Lower and Middle School colleagues, ensuring classroom learning supports the overall goals and objectives required by the school.
  • Differentiate instruction, set learning goals, and create learning plans that tirelessly move students well beyond meeting current year curriculum.
  • Able to effortlessly manage student groups of up to 15 by ensuring students are engaged, by being well prepared and seamlessly organized.
  • Meticulously completing all teacher administrative tasks ensuring seamless running of the school operations
  • Be able to adapt, create and develop learning activities from curriculum expectations using teacher creativity.
  • Help to professionally shape and develop our standardized grade level expectations, programming, and resources (as InnovOak standardizes scopes and sequences to JK-8)

Essentials for Success

  • An education related university degree, with a B.Ed preferred.
  • Experiences in delivering a quality French program is preferred.
  • Must understand the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success and the basics needed for setting up a classroom program in an Ontario school.
  • Experience teaching or teacher preparation is highly valued. Certified teachers or teacher candidates will find familiarity in our structures and routines.
  • Fluent and polished English language oral communication skills (Fluency in French for FSL)

Other Information

  • This is not a sponsored position; you must be a Canadian Citizen/ PR to be considered for this role and be able to demonstrate your understanding of teaching in Ontario.
  • Retired Teachers, Current OTs, and PT employed are welcome to apply.
  • Currently this role is scheduled for 10 hours per week - 2 hours per day
  • If you have other teachables or experiences, there may be opportunity to deliver a Senior School credit
  • Extra hours would be available for Daily Supply, as a preferred supply teacher
  • If you are not currently working in Ontario, please ensure that your package demonstrates a realistic understanding of the domestic school culture.
  • Must provide a VSC and provide 3 suitable references to be hired. If you cannot obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check in Canada, please do not apply.
