Job summary

Dawson College in Montreal is seeking a qualified instructor for French language instruction and literature to join our city-center campus with a multicultural student body. In addition to regular teaching responsibilities, you will participate in pedagogical days, departmental meetings, and student-focused activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in French language instruction or French literature, or related field with substantial relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in another field and at least two years of compelling relevant experience related to French language instruction or teaching French literature.
• Undergraduate degree in French language instruction or French literature with at least two years of relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in French language instruction or French literature;
  Or
  Master’s degree in a related field (language instruction, linguistics, translation, creative writing, or comparative literature, etc.) and substantial relevant experience related to French language instruction (FLS2, FLE3, or Français, langue d’enseignement) or teaching literature;
  Or
  Master’s degree in another field and at least two (2) years of compelling relevant experience related to French language instruction (FLS, FLE, or Français, langue d’enseignement) or teaching French literature. More than half of the applicant’s pre-university or university studies must have been completed in French;
  Or
  An undergraduate degree in French language instruction or French literature and at least two (2) years of compelling relevant experience related to French language instruction or teaching French literature.
• Excellent communication skills in French and the ability to communicate in English are essential.
• Teaching experience at the college level is an asset.
