Job summary

Mercor seeks experienced French Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project in partnership with a leading research lab. You will evaluate LLM French outputs, edit and annotate content, and provide linguistic insights to improve model performance.

Candidates should be near-native in French, skilled in translation/editing and NLP data work, with strong grammar, regional nuance awareness, and the ability to work in distributed, remote teams.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native French with strong grammar and stylistics.
• Experience in translation, editing, or NLP data work in French.
• Understanding of linguistic nuances and regional variations.
• Experience working in distributed, remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the quality of LLM-generated French text across use cases (translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar correction).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite French content to meet linguistic standards.
• Annotate French text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps; provide detailed linguistic feedback to guide training efforts.
