With our strong track record and growth trajectory, we are seeking a Freight Director to build and lead our freight brokerage division, expanding revenue and delivering exceptional client service.

What You’ll Do

Build and optimize MTE’s freight brokerage and transportation program, increasing contribution to overall revenue.

Engage with clients and vendors to design custom, value-add freight solutions across FTL, LTL, parcel, drayage, rail, air, and ocean freight.

Negotiate rates and establish strong partnerships with carriers locally, regionally, and nationally.

Integrate seamlessly with both Business Development and Operations teams to maximize the impact of MTE for our clients.

Mentor a small but growing team of Freight Coordinators/Planners in Edmonton and Calgary.

Act as the senior escalation point for transportation and freight issues, ensuring client satisfaction.

Implement systems, analytics, and process improvements to drive efficiency and profitability.

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of freight forwarding/transportation management experience, including 5+ years at a senior leadership level.

Proven success in building freight programs and driving revenue growth in a brokerage model.

Exceptional understanding of the world of 3PL and warehousing and how transportation integrates.

Strong negotiation, carrier management, and client service skills.

Experience with (TMS) Transportation management system platforms, freight analytics, and margin optimization.

Entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented mindset with a high sense of urgency.
