Overview

Reporting to the Logistics Manager at the Sawmills Division Head Office, the Freight Coordinator will be responsible for helping coordinate freight for the company’s Sawmills Operations. This would include working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are moved efficiently and on time.

Responsibilities
  • Identifying and selecting the most appropriate cost-effective transportation for various products
  • Negotiating with carriers, resolving issues with carriers
  • Analyzing current transportation operations practices to identify improvement opportunities
  • Various administrative duties, such as accounts payable
  • Helping establish emergency plans
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education – College Diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration
  • 2-5 years logistics experience is considered an asset but not required
  • Demonstrates high standards of customer service
  • Can manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
