Busuu is seeking a Freelance Online Japanese Teacher to deliver high‑quality lessons to learners worldwide. You will plan and teach 45‑minute online sessions for corporate clients, with personalised coaching and bespoke learning paths.

Qualifications

• C2 level of Japanese required.
• Valid teaching certificate (TEFL/CELTA) or related university degree.
• Experience teaching online and providing 1:1 coaching or personalised learning support.

Responsibilities

What does a Freelance Online Japanese Teacher do at Busuu?

As a Freelance Online Japanese Teacher at Busuu, you’ll play a key role in helping students learn Japanese effectively and confidently. On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will likely include:

• Planning, preparing, and teaching online lessons (45 minutes each) for corporate clients.




• 1:1 Lessons: Deliver private lessons that include both language teaching and personalised coaching - conducting needs analyses, assessing levels, creating bespoke learning paths, checking progress during lesson time, and setting clear goals.

What we’re looking for in a Freelance Online Language Teacher:

• C2 Level of Japanese




• Valid teaching certificate such as TEFL/CELTA or related university degrees




• Experience in online teaching and providing 1:1 coaching or personalised learning support




• Fluency in additional languages:

• Comfortable teaching: presentation skills, negotiations, business email etiquette, meeting management, multicultural communication, etc.




• Excellent communication skills to engage and teach students




• High-Speed Internet, Modern Laptop / PC with a microphone and camera




• Must comply with local freelance/contractor regulations
