DURATION: Freelance, starting late May – with potential for ongoing work or full-time

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a bilingual (French/English) Copywriter at the ACD or CD-level based inMontréal.with a strong grasp of creative development across broadcast and social platforms. This is a freelance role, beginning late May, for a campaign that spans TV and digital content with the potential for additional work to follow.

You’ll help lead the creative development and execution of high-impact work that resonates across both English and French-speaking audiences in Canada. Strong storytelling skills, deep cultural fluency, and experience navigating production timelines are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead ideation and execution for campaigns spanning commercial and social content.
  • Attend in-person meetings inMontréal.
  • Develop insight-driven, emotionally resonant creative tailored to diverse Canadian audiences, with a focus on Quebec.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including strategy, production, and account leads.
  • Present ideas and creative work to clients and stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • Support the Creative Director or Executive Creative Director in concept development, strategy, and presentations.
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment with client objectives, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Lead and contribute to brainstorming sessions to drive non-traditional creative thinking.
  • Review and proof creative work for accuracy and quality.
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful client relationships.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and innovations.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 8+ years of agency experience as a writer, currently at the ACD/CD-level.
  • Bilingual in French and English is a must – both written and spoken.
  • Strong Portfolio: You demonstrate originality, innovation, and multi-disciplinary thinking through your work.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and Quebec-specific markets and cultural nuances.
  • Proven experience developing bilingual or multicultural campaigns.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing work across TV/video, digital, and social content.
  • Ability to work independently and jump into projects quickly.
  • Highly collaborative, culturally curious, and passionate about great creative.
