Job summary

Dan Singh Construction Ltd. is looking for a framer-carpenter to work on-site across Edmonton, AB. The role requires 1–2 years of carpentry experience and a secondary school certificate. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, measure and cut materials, and help frame floors, walls and roofs. Supervision of teammates is expected.

Location: various locations around Edmonton. English required. Start date: as soon as possible. Two vacancies.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant carpentry experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Supervise other workers.
