Job description

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Tasks:

  1. Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
  2. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
  3. Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  4. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  5. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  6. Schedule and coordinate work on sites.
  7. Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
  8. Read blueprints and drawings.
  9. Administer first aid in emergency situations.
