bMod in Montreal is seeking an experienced Fractional HR Manager to provide senior HR expertise, lead performance reviews, ensure compliance, and drive corporate HR initiatives.
This hands-on role requires ownership of HR projects from discovery to implementation, plus ongoing support for employees, managers, and leadership. You will partner with senior leadership and optimize HR processes and systems to support sustainability audits and funding programs.
We're looking for an experienced Fractional HR Manager to provide senior-level HR expertise while leading performance reviews, compliance requirements and corporate HR initiatives.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who can step in, understand what needs to be done and move it forward. The work will include both ongoing HR support and defined projects that require independent ownership, judgment and execution.
Independently lead and deliver defined HR projects from requirements through implementation, including initiatives such as IQLF requirements, HR audits, sustainability audits and other corporate assessments
Lead HR‑related requirements for EcoVadis and other sustainability audits, including documentation, policies, evidence and improvement initiatives
Identify HR gaps, risks and opportunities and provide practical recommendations to leadership
Support the development and implementation of new HR processes, programs and frameworks as business needs evolve
Provide practical HR support to employees and managers on workplace matters, policies and HR processes
Coordinate and support the annual performance review process, including timelines, documentation, communications and follow‑up
Support employee training requirements including applicable funding or subsidy programs
Maintain and improve HR policies, processes and documentation to support compliance and business requirements
Manage and improve the HR system to ensure accurate employee records
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and reporting and implement practical solutions
Stay current on Quebec and Canadian employment requirements and advise leadership on relevant implications
Work closely with leadership and Finance on HR requirements and initiatives
Senior HR generalist or HR manager experience, ideally within a small or mid‑sized organization
Strong knowledge of Quebec and Canadian employment requirements
Experience independently leading HR projects, audits, compliance initiatives or corporate programs
Experience with HR systems, employee records and performance review processes
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and move projects forward independently
Practical, solutions‑oriented approach with sound judgment and strong attention to detail
Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and employees
Experience with sustainability programs, government programs/grants, audits or corporate compliance initiatives is an asset
Bilingual English/French
