About the Role

We are seeking a Fractional Head of Talent to partner directly with our business leaders of our portfolio companies. This isn’t a traditional recruiting role. You won’t be placing job ads or sorting resumes — we have that covered. Instead, you will act as a strategic talent scout and first interviewer, reviewing pre-screened candidates (via video-based responses) and conducting smart, business-oriented first interviews. Your job : Spot rising stars. Identify high-potential individuals across sales, marketing, and operations roles. Ask sharp questions. Use your business sense to see beyond the resume and assess whether this person has the intelligence, drive, and upside potential to thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review video applications and conduct thoughtful first interviews
  • Surface top candidates weekly to the Founder and senior leaders
  • Provide notes, interview recordings, and rationale for each recommendation
  • Develop a pattern-recognition system for spotting high performers early
  • Collaborate directly with the Founder and senior leaders to refine and evolve our hiring standards

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or human resources, preferably within a high-growth
  • Have a sharp mind and strong business instincts
  • Are an excellent judge of character and potential
  • Love identifying and developing high-potential people
  • Have interviewed hundreds (or thousands) of candidates across multiple roles
  • Have startup or fast-growth company experience
  • Are comfortable with AI tools, virtual work, and asynchronous communication
  • Are excited to grow into a full-time strategic talent role as the business scales

Pay range and compensation package

Hourly or project-based to start, with flexibility. Significant opportunity to grow with the company.
