About the Role

An established non-profit organization is seeking a Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership. Operating with a dedicated team of over 250 employees, the organization delivers a diverse range of services, with funding from fee-for-service programming, government support, and philanthropic contributions. Additionally, it owns multiple properties, providing long-term financial flexibility and strategic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring sustainable and efficient financial operations
  • Oversee all financial management, reporting, and compliance with government funding requirements
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to enhance financial processes, including payroll, AP/AR, and system improvements
  • Support financial strategy for real estate holdings and potential development in underserved areas
  • Contribute to financial planning for the e-learning platform, a revenue-generating initiative
  • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
  • Evaluate and recommend upgrades to the Sage financial system to improve efficiency and reporting
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure financial compliance with government and donor requirements
  • Assess the profitability and sustainability of fee-for-service programs and philanthropic contributions

Qualifications

  • CPA/CA designation with 15+ years of senior financial leadership experience
  • Proven expertise in nonprofit and public sector financial management
  • Strong understanding of ministry funding structures and compliance requirements
  • Experience driving operational improvements and financial system upgrades
  • Strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
  • Hands-on experience with Sage financial systems and financial process optimization
