NES Fircroft is seeking a Frac Equipment Operator in Red Deer, AB on a contract basis. You will operate frac equipment, perform pre/post trip checks, and support rig-up/down activities. The role requires local Alberta eligibility, a Class 1 license, H2S & First Aid certifications, and the ability to work a 14/7 rotation.

TDG and safety compliance are essential. Responsibilities include equipment inspections, maintaining components, and coordinating with team members to ensure safe and efficient

  • Operate FRAC equipment (Pumpers, Iron Truck, ChemVan, Blenders).
  • Understand FRAC operations including hot zone.
  • Refuel units as required.
  • Assist with rig-in/rig-out procedures as needed.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections for safety and roadworthiness.
  • Maintain inventory awareness for pumps and parts.
  • Manage fluid head/power end components and seals.
  • Inspect pumps and perform routine checks and warm-up.

Job description

Title: Frac Equipment Operator

Location: Red deer, AB

Employment type: Contract

Rotation: 14/7 OR 21/14, 12 hr days

MUST be local to Alberta and eligible to work in Canada!

Responsibilities:
  • Operating various FRAC equipment such as Pumpers, Iron Truck, ChemVan, Blenders
  • Understanding of various FRAC operations including hot zone
  • Refueling units as required
  • Knowledgeable of and able to assist with rig-in/rig-out procedures as required
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety and
    roadworthiness
  • Awareness of the tools and parts required on the horsepower pumpers for inventory and maintenance
  • Maintaining the fluid head/power end by changing packing valves, seats, inspecting and
    changing pony rod clamps, packing nuts, power end seals and plungers as needed
  • Perform pump inspection including pony rod clamps, glad nuts, warm up preheat the unit
    and complete a visual check
  • Proficient and knowledge of chemical pump sizes and rate capabilities
  • Chemical readings including volume and loading the job program
  • Completion of the TDG paperwork
  • Attend pre-job safety meetings
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, driver’s hours of
    service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods,
    fatigue management
  • Maintain vehicle service and repair status.
  • Maintain effective communication with co-workers
