Air Liquide Canada is seeking a FP&A Analyst (Financial Planning and Analysis) to join the western region finance team, which supports the operations of the western region and its districts. Based in Calgary, this position will work closely with the senior analyst and assist in the financial management of the region. The analyst will provide business insights through data-driven analysis and forecasts, monitor monthly financial data and collaborate with various teams to ensure financial objectives are met and operational efficiency is optimized. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset for operational accounting and a passion for financial analysis. Accounting, Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze data trends, operation metrics and key drivers to assess business performance.
  • Deliver consistent and reliable sales variance analysis of the business.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Analyst, ensure financial data is complete prior to close and book allocations and accrual entries if needed.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports on sales districts and plant operations and provide summary of monthly trends.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, SAP S4 Hana and data management and reporting tools such as BI reporting and Tableau.

Financial Planning and Budgeting

  • Collaborate with sales, pricing and operations teams to gather insights on plant performance, logistics, market trends and client behavior to explain variance analysis.
  • Update the annual standard cost model used for product costing and plant allocation.
  • Work closely with senior analyst in developing the annual target and quarterly re-forecasting processes.

Business Initiatives

  • Develop BI reporting for the western region under the direction of the senior analyst.
  • Prepare dashboards, KPIs and reports used by plant operators, district sales and management team to monitor western region performance.
  • Work closely with the pricing specialist to update annual, quarterly and monthly prices used for invoicing and contractual purposes.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the finance team, enhancing finance processes, reporting tools, and accuracy.

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures.
  • Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of financial data.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Management and operations accounting experience preferred.
  • Accounting designation or working towards a designation preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of standard costing.
  • Experience and knowledge of data management tools such as BI reporting or Tableau is required.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems with preference for Oracle and SAP S4 Hana.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Drive to continuously evaluate and improve processes.
