Job summary

Powerex Corp. is seeking a Financial Analyst, FP&A to join our Finance team in Vancouver. You will analyze financial performance, drive insights, and help automate reporting for leadership and stakeholders.

Ideal candidates combine strong financial acumen with comfort handling complex data sets in a fast-paced trading environment. A CPA/CFA track is an asset, and experience with IFRS/US GAAP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3 years of related experience in financial analysis, FP&A, financial reporting, or data reporting.
• CPA or CFA designation or progress toward one is a plus.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and how activity flows to net income.
• Proficiency with IFRS or US GAAP and advanced Excel.
• Experience with data platforms and BI tools; SAP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and interpret recurring financial reports with accuracy and clarity.
• Analyze performance and drivers, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support improvement and automation of reporting processes and tools.
• Assist forecasting, planning, and budgeting activities.
• Work with large data sets to produce insights and build dashboards.
• Investigate variances and respond to ad hoc analysis requests.
• Assist with senior leadership and Board reporting.
• Support regulatory and compliance reporting.
• Maintain documentation to ensure strong controls.
