Reporting to the Cost Controller, the FP&A Analyst manages budgets, financial forecasts, analyzes variances, ensures compliance with IFRS and SOX requirements, and generates detailed financial reports for management. The role includes providing training and support to managers on budget development, cost tracking, and financial data interpretation to aid strategic decision-making. The position is based in Montreal with occasional trips to the Windfall site, working a 5-2 schedule.

Tasks and responsibilities
  1. Provide training and support to managers in developing and documenting budgets and financial assumptions;
  2. Develop and oversee the annual budget process, collaborating with multiple departments to align with strategic objectives;
  3. Evaluate company performance regularly by analyzing variances between actual vs. budget/forecast and monitor key ratios;
  4. Ensure financial processes comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations by implementing internal controls;
  5. Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure financial reporting complies with IFRS;
  6. Evaluate profitability of projects by monitoring costs;
  7. Work with finance, operations, and management teams to provide accurate financial analysis and reporting;
  8. Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to stakeholders;
  9. Develop financial forecasts based on historical data and market trends, including scenario analyses;
  10. Support managers by analyzing financial reports to improve decision-making;
  11. Perform other related tasks necessary for departmental operations.
Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • University degree in accounting, finance, or related field;
  • Member of the CAP order (asset);
  • Bilingual in English and French;
  • Experience in the mining or manufacturing industry.
