Donald’s Fine Foods, a family-owned global provider of high-quality specialty meat products, has an exciting opportunity for a 4th Class Power Engineer, based out of our location in Langley, BC.

Brief Job Description

The successful candidate must maintain good relationships with the team and contractors to support safety and on-site programs. The candidate should be willing to learn and work as part of a team or independently, depending on the work required. Maintenance helpers will work directly with the Supervisor, completing assigned tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety procedures and work safely.
  • Report to the Maintenance Manager; responsible for boiler operation of a high-pressure boiler and maintaining all mechanical equipment and systems in the plant.
  • Perform daily pre-operational inspections and repairs as necessary.
  • Possess knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Use power and manual tools effectively.
  • Possession of a Provincial Millwright Journeyman certificate or recognized interprovincial equivalent is an asset.
  • Complete projects assigned by the plant/maintenance manager or leads.
  • Carry out manual tasks indoors and outdoors in all conditions.
  • Ability to lift objects of at least 40 lbs and be in good physical health, with capacity for walking, standing, crouching, and lifting heavier materials and tools.
  • Communicate issues or problems to management and collaborate with staff to complete jobs.
  • Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, or at odd angles.
Requirements
  • 4th Class Power Engineering ticket.
  • Experience in trades operating power tools and equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a food processing plant (asset).
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Equipment Operator Certification (Forklift, Reach, Scissor Lift, Skid Steer).
  • Physical ability to lift at least 40 lbs and perform manual tasks in various conditions.
Working hours

Monday to Friday, 4:30 am – 1:00 pm.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $37.00 (Base rate + Premium).
