Job description

Manzil Invest is a division of Manzil, Canada’s leading Islamic FinTech company offering Shariah-compliant financial solutions including mortgages, investments, and wealth management. With over $125M in AUM and a rapidly growing client base, Manzil is launching a new PM / IFM platform to directly manage proprietary and third-party funds that align with Islamic, ethical, and socially responsible investing principles.

We are seeking a founding Portfolio Manager and IFM leader to establish and scale a licensed PM / IFM entity that will power the next phase of Manzil’s investment strategy. This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up—with the backing, capital, and infrastructure of a high-growth fintech brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the formation and registration of a new PM / IFM entity with the appropriate securities regulators (OSC, CSA, etc.)
• Design and implement robust compliance, governance, and operational frameworks
• Build out and manage a team of analysts, compliance officers, and fund operations staff
• Oversee discretionary portfolio management activities for both retail and institutional clients
• Launch, structure, and manage new investment funds that align with Islamic and ESG / SRI mandates
• Serve as the primary regulatory interface with provincial and national securities regulators
• Collaborate with Manzil’s leadership to align portfolio strategies with broader fintech product offerings
• Ensure full adherence to fiduciary, client reporting, and risk management requirements

Qualifications

• Currently registered, or eligible to be registered, as a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and / or Advising Representative (AR) under Canadian securities law
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in investment management, including prior experience at a registered PM and / or IFM
• Demonstrated success in launching and managing investment funds (mutual funds, pooled funds, model portfolios, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Canadian securities regulations and registration processes
• Proven leadership and entrepreneurial ability to build teams, systems, and governance from scratch
• Familiarity with values-based investing (Islamic finance, ESG, or faith-aligned models) is a strong asset
