Location: Remote / Flexible (timezone overlap with US hours preferred)

About Pagent

Pagent is a cutting-edge social video platform that combines the best of short-form video with head-to-head voting competitions. Think TikTok meets Facemash—users watch videos and vote in direct matchups (this video vs. that video) within categories, creating addictive competition and discovery through elimination-style tournaments.

What You'll Do

•Develop and scale our React Native mobile app for iOS & Android

•Deliver smooth, performant video experiences and innovative new features

•Design and implement backend services with MongoDB and AWS

•Handle user data, video uploads, and voting logic at scale

TypeScript

•Integrate TypeScript throughout the entire stack for type-safe, maintainable code

Media Infrastructure

•Manage media storage & delivery using AWS S3 and CDN (e.g., Cloudflare)

•Optimize upload/download performance for seamless user experience

DevOps & Deployment

•Deploy services via AWS infrastructure and orchestration tools

•Work closely with product, design, and data teams for rapid feature iteration

•Monitor & troubleshoot production systems ensuring high uptime and responsiveness

Must-Have Qualifications

•React Native – 2+ years building production-grade mobile applications with demonstrable projects

•MongoDB – Experience with schema design, indexing strategies, and scaling clusters

•TypeScript – Strong understanding of typing and static analysis in JS/TS environments

•AWS S3 – Managing large media asset storage and lifecycle policies

•GitHub – Version control workflows and collaboration

•GitHub Actions – CI/CD pipeline setup and automation

Nice-to-Have (Big Plus!)

•Startup Experience – Previous experience at early-stage companies

•React Native Employment – Professional experience working with React Native in a team environment

•UI/UX Design – Design skills and eye for user experience

•Cloudflare CDN experience for global edge delivery

•DASH/HLS streaming implementation or optimization
