Job summary

Float is hiring a Founding Lead to own and accelerate Float Intelligence end to end, spanning technical foundations, data, and product experiences. You will lead a small team of product and data engineers, reporting to the Head of Product, in a hybrid role that balances engineering and product leadership.

You will decide on model approaches, evaluation, and release gates, shipping AI-powered experiences directly to customers and collaborating with multiple product teams to drive scalable impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, senior/staff level experience.
• 2+ years managing engineers, ideally cross-disciplinary.
• Hands-on experience building AI or LLM-backed products for real users.
• Past experience shipping 0→1 products or founding a software business.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a small team of product engineers and data/ML engineers.
• Own the AI experiences roadmap alongside Head of Product, including new bets.
• Take AI products from zero to one, from PoCs to customer-facing deployments at scale.
• Make technical calls on model choice, evaluation, and infrastructure for scale, latency and cost.
• Build the shared platform layer for extraction, evaluation, observability, and data pipelines.
