Job summary

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide assistance in the installation of inner duct and fiber optics cable around airport runways, taxiways, and terminals.
  2. Tasks include, but are not limited to, handling fiber optics and inner duct cables without damage, managing large cable reels, lubricating cables as they enter the manhole, and assisting in overall safety procedures.
  3. Follow directions and instructions provided on-site by the team lead and engineer.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with communications and/or telecommunications, preferably with the installation and integration of FAA communication equipment/systems.
  • Basic understanding of manual and power tools, test equipment such as multimeters, ohmmeters, power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Ability to climb antenna towers of feet or greater.
  • Ability to independently recognize problems/issues encountered during installations, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to complete the project.
Schedule

Monday through Thursday, hours per week to be specified.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a high-risk environment with active passenger aircraft movement nearby.
  • Able to perform assigned work under severe time constraints occasionally.
