Forklift Operator Ready for a New Challenge? Become a Training Specialist!

Randstad is hiring a Training Specialist in Brantford, Ontario. If you're an experienced forklift operator with a passion for safety and a desire to teach, this is your chance to lead training for new and current employees. You'll cover safe forklift operation (Crown Reach Truck), warehouse systems, and other vital procedures.

Position: Forklift Trainer / Training Specialist
Location: Brantford, Ontario
Shifts: Day and Afternoon
Salary: $23-$23.50/hr

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive training for new hires on site safety, material handling equipment (MHE), warehouse management systems (WMS), and quality standards.
Deliver ongoing refresher training for current employees on safety, MHE, WMS, and quality, ensuring continuous skill development.
Assist with auditing employee adherence to health and safety, SQF, and inventory processes, providing reports and improvement recommendations. You'll also maintain meticulous training documentation and ensure full compliance with all safety regulations and legislation.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance operational excellence, health and safety programs (including wellness and ergonomics), and reduce incidents. Lead communication strategies to boost safety awareness and operational expertise across all levels.
Understand key work processes (H&S, SQF, warehouse, yard operations) and support the operations team by performing material handling tasks like picking, loading, and unloading when not engaged in training.


Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years Material Handling Equipment experience is required
Specific experience operating a Crown Reach truck and counterbalance, reach, order picker and pallet truck
Valid external forklift license
Prior experience in a trainer role
Experience with wireless RF systems including voice picking considered an asset.
Experience with preferred picking practice is an asset.
Experience working in Cold storage considered an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) considered an asset.
Experience in using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Certified MHE trainer (Train the Trainer) or willing to complete.
