Job description

This position is Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, starting at $18.00 per hour.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of products to meet safety, security, and productivity standards. This may involve operating equipment such as Floor Scrubber/Sweeper, Double Fork Forklift, Carton Clamp Truck, Sit Down Forklift, Roll Clamp Truck, Electric Pallet Jack, or Slip Sheet.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading and unloading paper roll stock and corrugated boxes efficiently, accurately, and safely
  • Stacking products in proper storage areas using appropriate equipment
  • Rotating products according to customer requirements
  • Maintaining inventory integrity and assisting with physical inventories
  • Performing labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, or repacking as needed
  • Picking and assembling orders for shipment accurately
  • Operating material handling equipment safely
  • Identifying damaged, lost, or missing products and notifying leadership
  • Completing daily forklift inspections
  • Reporting unsafe or out-of-service equipment for repairs
  • Keeping work areas clean and organized
  • Ensuring safety and security in operations, complying with regulations
  • Interacting professionally with management, staff, customers, and vendors
  • Completing required records and reports
  • Performing other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating powered industrial trucks
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English
  • Basic math, computer skills, and ability to use RF scan guns and warehouse management systems
  • Forklift Certification required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to navigate confined spaces and work in varying temperature conditions
  • Potential exposure to high noise levels requiring hearing protection
